What I Learned From My 4-Year-Old Son's Acute Gastroenteritis
My son returned from the hospital two days ago due to Acute Gastroenteritis. It all happened so fast. It started at 4:00 in the morning of January 23 when he woke us up and vomited his entire meal from the previous night. He was complaining and kept on pointing at his tummy. We thought he had difficulty digesting the "Sinigang na Salmon" he ate for dinner.

The Northern Cup Cafe in Capas Review: A Hidden Gem
I've been hearing a lot of mixed feedback about The Northern Cup Cafe for months, and finally, last January 4, 2018, we were able to visit the place. It is located at Phase 1 Barangay Cristo Rey, Capas, Tarlac. Why did I call this a hidden gem?

Secret Garden Resto and Cafe in Baguio City Review: Is it Worth it?
I saw somewhere on the internet that Secret Garden Resto and Cafe is one of the top ten most loved restaurants in Baguio City. After exhausting all our energy in Santa's Village at the Manor last January 2, we went there to eat dinner.

Grand Sierra Pines Hotel in Baguio City Review: Still Our Favorite!
Like last year, we spent our first three days of 2018 in our favorite city - Baguio. We booked a Superior Room in Grand Sierra Pines Hotel for two nights through Agoda.
It was already our second time staying at Grand Sierra Pines. The first time was in June 2016, when I made a surprise family trip for my husband's birthday. It was all worth it. The hotel staff even helped me plan a little surprise for hubby. When we settled in our room a few minutes after our arrival, they came with Baguio's famous strawberry shortcake, a few balloons, and a birthday card while singing Happy Birthday. It wasn't free, though - I paid P2,500 for that. But hubby was touched and happy, so it was all worth it.
The rooms are still lovely and clean—the same as the bathroom.

Wifi? It was unstable during our whole 2-night stay, despite my special request to have a room with the strongest wifi connection because of my job.
Their breakfast buffet is still sumptuous. I love how Grand Sierra Pines' kitchen staff cook their omelet. They also offer Batirol, which is my new favorite.
We were a bit surprised with the new additions and improvements to the hotel - there's already a fitness gym, a playground, a bar, etc. This is probably why their room rates are now higher. I remember paying Php7,000 plus the last two years for two nights instead of Php11,584.88.
I have to comment on how their housekeeping staff handled the used cups. When I was about to make coffee on our second morning, I saw that there were still some cream build-ups on the spoons and cups. Then I realized that they weren't using any proper dishwashing stuff when they took the cups inside the bathroom after I called them the previous day to clean our room. Maybe replace them with clean ones instead of washing them in the bathroom sink?
Verdict
Our recent 2-night stay in Grand Sierra Pines Hotel was still excellent. It's still our favorite hotel in Baguio City.
We plan to try The Manor on our next visit, so let's see.
